Our Voices Are Mute II (still) (2009)
giclee print, 18 x 22 cm

Dark and esoteric, Ramir's video works explore what he terms "the connection between the physical, external landscape and the internal landscape that resides within the mind." Journeys form a dominant motif in Ramir's films, as solitary figures travel across desolate wildernesses, drift through looming woods and stalk across harsh, grainy beaches. The distorted, impressionistic style and unreadable narratives of Ramir's work suggests that the life of the mind is ultimately mysterious and opaque, as the lone, blurry figures carry on towards unknown destinations.
