FRANCES VAN DAMMEN

Come Closer

12 - 30 August 2008

Frances van Dammen paints exquiste grassy forest floors, Victorian in detail with a thick coat of resin to seal in the paintings in another world all together. The paintings are highly detailed illusions of a contrived reality. They refer simultanously to photorealism and classicism with their preoccupation with clarity and conventional formality.
New to Orex Gallery, Frances van Dammen lives and works in Hamilton.
